It’s an advent calendar. Inspirit buy the first advent calendar: one candle for each day before Christmas. I tried to do something witch represent the old spirit of christmas, not the consumerism we have now, but with contemporary lines. 

To represent the old spirit of Christmas I used the lace, remember and symbolize for me the old time and the fact to dress up for christmas.

Also the candles : the old candle was daly use and a first necessity object. Now it’s more for atmosphere, decoration...

For the contemporary representation it’s the black frame : straight and slim lines. The plexiglass is also a materials use in design nowadays. The “swimming pull” is here to receive the wax (in water). You can see the reflection of the candle in the water and the wax drawings inside the water.

It’s a prototype. I know candle = fire so it’s not appropriate with fabric and wood. So if it was made to be use I would use metal and fire retardant fabric and maybe candle made if a fabric (not home made).
