What is a floral?

Floral imagery has been used in Art and Textiles/both Fashion and interiors for centuries. During this (2 week )project you will explore this wide and diverse theme.

Please try and come with an open mind of what you think Florals are.

Research artists like Cezanne, Matisse, Georgia O'keefe, Van Gogh, Redoute... find other artists that have used flowers in their work.

Analyse their style, consider their technique...

In contemporary textiles floral imagery is constantly been shown. Research  the following designers: Dolce&Gabbana, Christopher Kane, Kenzo, Paul Smith, Cath Kidson, Liberty prints...

You will explore many drawing techniques that you will then translate onto fabric in the print room  during week 2.
