The last two weeks in textile were very rewarding.
I did research in painting, graphic design, fashion, and textile before going to the royal botanic garden and starting to draw.
It was difficult for me to draw in the botanic garden, I tried, but mainly took pictures. When I drew my first sketches, it was hard to find a way to find, my style of drawing. So I focussed on Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s drawings, continuous lines, and entanglement. I experimented on small pieces of fabric, just to see how they work with the disperse dyes and the transfer paper. After that, I draw, draw, draw, experiment, and just enjoyed to explore florals. I liked to work with the transfer paper, to have these pure colours, straight lines... and used it with the disperse dyes and a pen nib to have small details, fine lines... The result was really nice. I also used lace to have the print of the shape on the fabric.
If I had more time I would do drawings of the context for each of my samples and continue to experiment different ideas I had at the end. Also try to make at least six different samples but in the same style to have like a collection.
