Most of the problems designers face have already been solved to greater or lesser degrees of success-
How do we access that experience/knowledge?
The following, in no particular order are magazines and periodicals, all of which are to be found in the library.
These 40 publications all have something in common, they all feature design work at the cutting edge, collectively from all over the world.
One of the issues that will become clear during the course of this exercise is that each project has been chosen for inclusion in the publication, so has been subject to critical appraisal, usually of a very high standard. This is in contrast to the internet where there is no editorial input.
And the following, in no particular order, are interiors in Edinburgh, all to be found within 15 minutes walk of the College of Art.
Your challenge is to identify one project from 10 of the publications and 10 of the real interiors above, and to describe each one of them on 1 A4 page primarily through sketches, with some supporting text.
