I was inspiring of the cinema and particularly the white screen of the cinema. I chosen to do do my project around a frame with stretch white fabric. I couldn’t find this white stretch fabric so I did it whit fabric I had in the wrong way, so it’s more white. I thought to spray it in white at the end to have the effect of a screen but I like it like this and I was thinking you didn’t really see the screen in white, there are picture on it all the time. I decided to leave it with patterns, shapes...
It try to drew, created the different movements I saw when I was in the cinema. You can’t really see clearly movements in the cinema, you had to be very attentive to make out movements of faces or hands... That’s why there are really slim lines, and you need to have a closer look to see what’s append and what I sew on the fabric.
In opposition when people arrive in the cinema they walk, seat, stand up... So I tried to represent that whit the different 3D effects, the white lines...
Lines in repetition and the pearls are here also to represent the repetition of movements (mouth do the same movement when you eat something or drink... and I saw people who did the same movement whit the shoulder... I observed a lot of repetitive movement during the movie). The pearls are also here to have a look of the beauty of the cinema, it’s a valued and respectful place.
